We are looking for fun and engaging hosts to run team building events for corporate groups. For example, you'll be facilitating highly competitive guacamole making competitions, leading diverse groups on renegade scavenger hunts of museums, and engaging colleagues in high energy mix-and-mingle events! About You You have a background in one or more of the following: Theater, Improv, Comedy, Debate, Teaching (if you were Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society), Making passionate speeches about nerdy subjects to your friends, Being Awesome. You're passionate about creating authentic interactions, commanding a room, and being the life of the party. You’re warm, friendly, eager, a "people person" with excellent communication skills and also attention to detail. You have the ability to think on your feet, be a self-starter, learn and memorize content + add your flair, and develop your own content. Compensation and Workload Pay for independent contractors is a flat rate plus gratuity. Lead Host rate for a 90-minute event: $100 to $125 per event (~$40/hour) based on event type, plus gratuity. Co-Host rate for a 90-minute event: $60 to $100 per event (~$25/hour) based on event type, plus gratuity. Average gratuity is $200 per event, with 75% going to the Lead Host and 25% to the Co-Host. Total compensation for a Host is estimated between $100 to $275/event and for a Co-Host $60 to $97.50/event. Estimated workload of 1-3 events a month. Job Requirements Age 21+. Located in or near DC. Own reliable transportation required for traveling to event locations in and around the DC area. Flexible weekday daytime availability. Events typically running from 10am - 7pm (local time), with the occasional event starting earlier or later. "People person" with excellent communication/presentation skills. Extremely reliable with an exceptional attendance record. Detail-oriented and capable of giving clear instructions for game set-up. Comfortable being in the spotlight and the life of the party. Ability to think on your feet and creatively problem-solve in front of guests. Personable communication in English with an emphasis on authentic language. Willingness to attend and successfully pass training, including a skills demo. Ability to stand for 2-3 hours and manage supplies of up to 15 lbs. Experience in theater, improv, performance, comedy, training, or customer-facing roles preferred. Willing to utilize our communication platforms (mainly via an internal text hotline, email and Slack) for internal communication. Start Date & More Info We are looking for in-person event hosts to join us in DC for job-site training starting late-June / early-July. Auditions / training will be 3-days from 12pm - 5pm with a pay rate of $22 per hour. During this time we will train you on our events. The final day will consist of an audition.If you pass the final audition you'll be hired as an independent contractor.
