My family adopted Roman from the Miami-Dade Animal Shelter on October 15, 2023. He was brought in as a stray on October 7, 2023 and according to the shelter he was about 8 months old when he was brought in, so he is currently about 1 year and 3 months old. At first Roman was very shy, however, within a few days he was very comfortable around my daughters and I. It took him a little longer to be comfortable around my son and other men, but he is very comfortable around men now. Roman is an energetic and playful dog. I would prefer for his new owner to have a gated backyard for him to run around in. If a backyard is not available, then his new owner should take him to a dog park regularly. He is not completely house-trained but very capable of learning quickly. My household does not have the time to be consistent with training. Nevertheless, Roman helps us out by giving us cues when he needs to go for a walk- he will stare at us and start yawning. He is a very intelligent dog!
