Assistant Manager Job Duties and Expectations You create a comfortable, satisfying work environment in the restaurant while meeting or exceeding our quality, service, cleanliness, and safety standards. You support the General Manager with overall daily restaurant operations, including but not limited to product ordering, vendor relationships, implementation of systems or processes, staff training and reviews, and staffing schedules. We've found that the best opportunity to learn the business and grow as a manager is to spend time training and working at multiple locations. The Restaurant Management Training Program lasts about 6-12 months and includes rotations between 2-3 Madison restaurant locations to support and learn from the leaders at different locations. Assistant Manager Requirements Experience as a supervisor or manager in the restaurant industry is required. Embrace and embody our standards for Customer Service, Food Quality, and the Big Five Code of Conduct (Dependability, Awareness, Connection, Generosity, and Effort). Ability to stand and walk for long periods. To bend, crouch, and lift to 20-50 lbs. To use ovens, pizza cutters, and other equipment of the business. Cross-trained and regularly able to perform all entry-level positions (Front of House, Cook, Delivery) within 6 months of being placed in position. Must complete a food safety certification course within 4 months of being placed in position. English language proficiency is required for this position. Reliable transportation to and from the restaurant locations. Must be 18+ to apply. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you can apply for the Front of House at our Garver location (3241 Garver Green), and all other positions/locations require you to be 18+ years of age. Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide adequate identification documentation at Orientation and/or Day One. Assistant Manager Schedule This position is salaried for 45 hours per week: 20-30 hours in operations/on-shift, about 5-10 hours on people development and training, and about 5-10 hours on administration and meetings. Your operational work and meeting schedules are posted at least 2-4 weeks in advance. 9-5 is a Dolly Parton song, not a job at Ian's Pizza. Many of our busiest shifts are on evenings and weekends, and we expect each manager to be available to work evenings and weekends. As a leader in the restaurant, you will work with the leadership team to be available for emergencies and help find coverage or cover shifts as needed.
