Responsibilities for Materials Manager Establishes and ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery Collaborate with other managers and corporate Purchasing to determine supply needs Develop and execute inventory cycle count process to assure high inventory accuracies and establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates: Group Leader and Line Leader Keep detailed records on procurement activity, materials quantity, specifications etc. Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems Prepare reports on inventory, material usage and efficiency Qualifications for Materials Manager 3+ years' experience in a materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or sourcing role Previous experience implementing an ERP system In depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems Hands on experience with forecasting and budgeting Analytical thinking with problem solving aptitude Working knowledge of ERP systems Excellent organizational and leadership skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Previous experience in a start-up environment a plus BS/BA in logistics, materials management or similar relevant field
