Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

We are the “go to” supplier for Ford Motor Company and our exceptional engineering team provides solutions on the most challenging programs. These programs are typically complex, require unique solutions and launch quickly. What do we need? Our team needs a high-energy, quick-thinking Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to help us reach new heights, are you up for the challenge? What will you do? Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as sales orders, invoices, work orders or customer purchase orders to verify accuracy. Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. Prepare documents, such as shippers, bills of lading, or custom documents to route shipments. Communicate with logistic carriers as well as internal and external customers to address issues, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. Help create systemic corrective actions. Pack, seal, label, or affix shipping documents to prepare materials for shipping. Contact carrier representatives to arrange or issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Deliver or route materials to departments using fork truck, hand truck or sorting bins. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Determine best value shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped. Update customer portals with logistics information as necessary. Track dunnage and coordinate return for production shipping. Support daily drop in requests. What’s our culture? We can solve what we know! Open door! What do you need to be successful? 3-5 years’ experience in shipping and receiving or another supply chain role. Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills with the ability to recognize changes in patterns, ask questions to understand, and resolve errors. Strong communication and negotiation skills – written and verbal. To be comfortable with all forms of communication: in person, virtual, phone calls, emails, texting, etc. Whatever it takes. To prioritize work, ask for help and meet deadlines. To enjoy being part of a team in a dynamic, fast paced environment. A sense of urgency. Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Suite of Products. Strong data entry skills and attention to detail. MRP and/or ERP proficiency and desire to improve. Automotive experience preferred.
