UX Designer II

Description:
Our well known tech client is looking to hire a UX Designer to collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to design and build desirable, accessible user experiences that both conform to industry accessibility standards such as WCAG, and expand what accessibility means in digital experiences. Overall Responsibilities: Develop process flows, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate how design quality achieves the desired results; Execute tasks within the scope of a broader project under general guidance from manager, team lead, or senior designers; Select appropriate design methods, tools, and processes from options provided by manager or senior team members to address technical challenges under some guidance; Begin to influence project, program or product decisions by providing support to senior key decision makers (e.g., facilitating workshops, crafting/delivering presentations. During the course of this work, you will also regularly participate in design critiques and reviews, join brainstorming and problem solving workshops, and support accessibility office hours. You will be expected to execute delegated tasks related to well-defined project timelines, goals, and objectives, and clarify assumptions with stakeholders before creating or finalizing designs.You will align with senior UX designers to deliver design features or services that maintain product quality and consistency. Your deliverables will leverage standard writing and design tools to help develop mock-ups or prototypes, identify product or platform requirements, and follow well-defined design templates, style guides, and accessibility guidelines. Mandatory Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Design or HCI, or equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of product design principles and user-centric processes. Familiarity with UX design principles, accessibility guidelines and inclusive design. Demonstrated familiarity creating production ready design documentation. Demonstrated familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for multiple platforms and surfaces. Knowledge of design systems and their contemporary trends and usage. Portfolio that demonstrates experiences crafting usable digital interfaces. Ability to make design decisions that result in a coherent product, platform, or user experience, including the ability to question and assess execution, craft, longevity, and scale of designs. Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications: Comfortable using Figma and Material Design. Specific knowledge of accessibility guidelines, especially WCAG. Illustration, conversational design, audio design, and/or motion design experience. Ability to prepare effective presentations in content and function, and to speak competently to the level of the audience. The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $53 to $59 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
