Purpose Supports the execution of Scotiabank’s environmental/climate change priorities by enabling the Global Sustainability team to achieve individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of International Banking related strategies and objectives. Accountabilities • Supports the Director International Banking Climate Change and Sustainability in the oversight and implementation of Scotiabank’s Climate and Net-Zero Commitments in partnership with business lines and support functions across the Bank’s international footprint • Supports the wider Global Sustainability team with project management activities required to achieve Scotiabank’s climate and sustainability commitments • Supports Scotiabank’s Climate Change Centre of Excellence, contributing to the management and delivery of its cross-functional Sustainable Finance Network, training programs, resource library and communications channels • Manages, coordinates, and supports the tracking and reporting of progress toward International Banking’s climate-related finance targets, including liaising with business line, risk management, and other stakeholders • Supports activities for Scotiabank’s climate-related partnerships, as required • Supports the development and maintenance of climate related governance structures, policies, procedures, and taxonomies as required • Supports the Global Sustainability team to keep stay abreast of evolving climate change-related issues and trends that inform our work by: 1. Maintaining knowledge of best practice in environmental/climate change strategic initiatives in financial and other sectors 2. Researching industry best practices in climate-related governance, financed emissions reporting, and other related climate or broader sustainability topics 3.
