An offer of employment will be extended no later than June 15, 2024. This appointment opportunity is subject to final approval by the academic unit. Summary The Biological Sciences program invites applications for a LEO Intermittent Lecturer, non-tenure-track appointment which begins September 3, 2024 through December 20, 2024 for the Fall 2024 term. Contractual full-time rate per term is $25,500; term salary is dependent on number of courses taught and course effort percentage, up to 50% appointment for the Fall 2024 term. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching in person modality for the following courses: BIOL 130L section 009: Introduction to Organismal and Environmental Biology lab at 25% effort BIOL 130L section 012: Introduction to Organismal and Environmental Biology lab at 25% effortBased on performance and enrollment, Lecturer may be appointed for the Fall 2025 term. Required Qualifications* Master's degree or Ph. D. in Biology or a related field Previous teaching experience Ability to teach in both laboratory classroom and outdoor settings Desired Qualifications* Expertise in ecology, evolutionary biology, or organismal biology as evidenced by research, employment, or teaching background Familiarity with statistical methods, phylogeny, biodiversity, and animal dissection Union Affiliation This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
