Amanda (A134469) is a Pointer x Australian Cattle dog Mix who weighed 43.7 pounds on intake! 05/09/24 This sweet rambunctious gal is Amanda! She is technically considered a senior, yet her energy level would have you fooled! Amanda arrived at the shelter as a stray, so we donât have any prior behavioral information. She was found after chasing a cat up a tree, so she would do best in a cat-free home. Amanda was with another dog at that time and seemed to get along with him. Please ensure you are doing slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new animals. On intake we also noted that Amandaâs skin was red and irritated. She also had scar tissue built up in her right ear. We placed her on a limited-ingredient diet and her skin has calmed down immensely. Her next owner should discuss the possibility of allergies with their vet and how to continue to help her. Since Amanda was a stray, we also donât know if she has any obedience training or has been kennel-trained or housebroken. We encourage her next owner to bring her to an obedience class to continue working on her manners. Amanda has been very sweet at the shelter and does seem to enjoy the company of others.
