Position Overview: As the Marketing Content Manager, you will play a pivotal role within our brand team, entrusted with the execution of our communications across all channels. From shaping our editorial calendar to crafting compelling content, your role will be instrumental in strengthening our brand identity and fostering meaningful connections with our audience. Leading initiatives in copywriting, photography, videography, and crisis communication support, you'll ensure that every interaction reflects the core values and mission of KIPP DC. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications, you'll collaborate closely with internal teams, school leaders, and stakeholders to shape both the strategy and content of our internal and external communications, to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all channels. Key Responsibilities: Editorial Calendar & Content Creation/Curation (40%) Develop and maintain the editorial calendar for all internal and external channels, including newsletters, intranet, social media, email marketing, Slack, blog, public website, speeches, PR, and earned media. Lead content creation and curation efforts, managing KIPP DC's copywriting, video production, and photography needs. Collaborate with partner teams, academic leadership, and school leaders to curate compelling, human-centered stories, content, and campaigns. Ensure clear decision-making processes, feedback loops, and adherence to deadlines for content projects. Oversee the design, content, and production of marketing assets, maintaining alignment with brand guidelines and messaging. Utilize analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of content and inform future strategies. Audience Engagement (30%) Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance brand loyalty and awareness through various channels, with a focus on social media platforms. Manage KIPP DC's social media channels, including content ideation, creation, scheduling, and engagement. Foster community engagement and interaction, responding to inquiries and comments promptly and effectively. Collaborate with internal teams to identify communication needs and priorities for both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that communication efforts align with organizational goals and values, fostering transparency and community building. Copywriting, Photography, & Videography (20%) Lead copywriting, photography, and videography efforts, ensuring high-quality and impactful content across all channels. Provide support for crisis communication strategies and protocols, acting as a key point of contact during emergencies. Team Collaboration & Operations (10%) Serve as a thought partner and editor for teammates and partners, providing feedback and guidance as needed. Develop and maintain operational systems to manage projects effectively and report progress to key stakeholders. Collaborate with the communications and marketing team to update and maintain the organization's website. Participate in relevant activities, including staff meetings, professional development conferences, and public relations opportunities. Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. 2-5 years of communications, content creation, social media management, and crisis management experience. Exceptional project management skills required. Exceptional writing, grammar, and proofreading abilities. Mastery in various communication mediums, including social media, websites, email marketing, and other digital platforms. Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites, design software, digital marketing platforms, and CRMs. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Commitment to KIPP DC's mission and values. Required to travel between our eight campuses and attend frequent evening and weekend events at our schools. Compensation and Benefits KIPP DC offers an extremely competitive compensation and benefits package: The anticipated starting salary for this position is $71,615-$85,256. At KIPP DC we strive for clarity, equity, and to be highly competitive. When determining salaries we look at benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector. KIPP DC offers a robust benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurances; various voluntary benefits; and employer paid benefits such as short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, and a membership to One Medical. KIPP DC also offers a 403(b) retirement account with a 3% employer contribution and a 3% match with vesting after three years. Currently, individuals in this role have up to 15 paid time off days, up to 10 paid sick days, and 12 paid holidays. This is subject to change and your exact schedule will be shared in your offer letter. As a headquarters team that is focused on being responsive to our schools and meeting the needs of our students and families, we approach our work in a way that reflects these priorities. Schools operate in person and our students and families rely on us for in-person support, and this position will regularly provide on-site support to school teams, frequently partner with other headquarters teams, or regularly work in multiple locations. Because of the nature of the work, this role allows for occasional flexibility. This role will primarily be on-site at schools and HDQ.
