Job DescriptionFinancial ControllerMint Cannabis, a fully licensed multi-state cannabis operator, is seeking a full time Financial Controller.The individual in this role will oversee the daily, weekly, and monthly coding of business transactions, aswell as directly manage month end close. The controller will act as a technical resource to senior andstaff accounting team, as well as act as a liaison between internal/external audit and internalaccounting. They should recommend ways to improve internal accounting processes that align with bothinternal efficiencies and reporting needs of the C-Suite, lenders, and investors.Who you are: You have a sense of urgency You have a desire to improve processes You love analysis and research projects You’re self-driven and goal oriented You’re a master of communication and collaboration You consistently execute deadlines while navigating through a fast-paced environment You’re smart, innovative, and see your ideas through to the finish line The individual in this role is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely accounting and reportingof general ledger activity including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, andconsolidated financial statements. Additionally, Financial Controller performs other research andprojects including determination of effectiveness and efficiency of existing reports and developing andimplementing strategies for improving reports.General Duties: Oversight of Daily Cash Entries and Bank Reconciliations Complete month end close and all related journal entries Review accounts payable aging and ensure records are up to date Balance sheet reconciliations and analysis Assist with financial reporting and analysis Maintenance of Fixed Assets schedules Preparation of Sales/Use tax returns and other regulatory documents Assist Sr. Controller with technical guidance and process improvement Skills/ Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required Minimum of 5 years of general ledger and month end close or related experience is required Must be proficient in Excel, QuickBooks Desktop, and QuickBooks Online Prior cannabis industry experience preferred CPA Preferred Public accounting experience preferred Location Requirements: This is not a remote position; candidate must be willing and able to work in-person at our Tempe locationSalary and summary of Employment Benefits: $90,000-100,000/year, dependent upon education andexperiencePowered by JazzHR
