Join our winning team as a Pipefitter / Maintenance Mechanic in Lemont, IL. Full rate $41.75.This role works as a machine and equipment repairer and performs a variety of mechanical maintenance duties at a chemical plant. Pipefitters repair, recondition, rebuild, fabricate, test and perform predictive maintenance on plant equipment, tools and fixtures and also plan the sequence and method of fabrication and repair work.Job activities may involve working near high voltage, heavy equipment, mobile equipment, moving and rotating equipment, various gases, hazardous chemicals, confined spaces, high locations (up to 150 ft.) and congested areas.Necessity of continuous operation demands cooperation, teamwork and close attention.Minimum Requirements: * High school diploma or GED * Minimum of five years maintenance work experience as a pipefitter (industrial setting preferred) or Journeylevel pipefitter designation. Secondary skills in additional mechanical maintenance crafts preferred. * A complete employment application that explains a detailed work history required (resume must cover at least 5 years' work experience in pipefitter position) * Able to demonstrate basic computer skills, math and problem-solving; mechanical, numerical and verbal aptitude to learn our jobs quickly * Must be able to work call-ins and overtime when support is needed * Able to pass a functional physical testing and able to use standard safety equipment; must be able to liftup to 50 pounds * Able to climb ladders/stairs and work at heights * Able to work in tight or closed-in spaces * Pass a physical, drug screen and background check if job offer is received and accepted * Must possess a valid US Driver's License and be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)Grow your career where you are rewarded and valued.Who We AreSince 1892, Olin Corporation has steadily grown to become the industry leader in both chemicals manufacturing and ammunition.
