Position Summary: The Health Information Technology (HIT) Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the efficient use of all supported Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems that are utilized by the health center's medical, behavioral health, pharmacy, and dental teams. The position triages break-fix help desk tickets to the appropriate response level, assists new and current users with basic support, and provides ongoing training. Duties and Responsibilities: [BP1] [JB2] This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. Provides Tier 1 support to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Pharmacy Dispensing System (PDS), the Electronic Dental Record (EDR), and the central reporting database MARQE (Managing, Analyzing, and Reporting for Quality Engagement). Triage incoming Tier 1 help desk tickets and differentiate between break-fix tickets and project/new feature requests, and escalate to Tier 2 support level, if necessary. Provide Tier 1 support including: troubleshooting basic technical issues like password resets, answering questions, and resolving user problems. Accurately document ticket details for escalation to Tier 2 support, via approved methods. [BP3] [JB4] Provide training and guidance to end users as directed. Assist with superusers with training [BP5] [JB6] & onboarding for new staff and providers on the proper use for all supported systems. Assist superusers in maintaining user-friendly documentation and guides for the EHR system. Assist Tier 2 support with maintenance of the EHR, optimizing system performance, and ensuring software updates & security patches are applied. Participates in all committees as assigned. Performs special assignments and other work, on an as-needed basis. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree OR 2 - 4 years of healthcare experience using an EMR, PDS, or EDR required. Exceptional computers skills in a Microsoft Windows environment required. Strong understanding of EHR systems and healthcare processes required. Familiarity with (eClinicalWorks) is a plus. Complete EHR training with 90 days of start required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving abilities and a willingness to assist others. Attention to detail and data accuracy. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. *Work or lived experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities : Possess superior organizational and administrative skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Ability to work independently and achieve high standards of productivity, achieving deadlines and with superior product results. Strong calendaring, organizational, and document management skills required. Proactive approach to solving problems and communicating to leadership. Knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and office equipment required. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work. FLSA Status: Hourly, Full-time, Non-Exempt Leader: Health Information Systems Manager Salary: $23.08 hourly B enefits: 150 hours of PTO in the first year followed by 195 hours per year moving forward. 12 paid holidays Medical coverage options include a PPO plan or a HDHP.
