Greater Valley YMCA - Easton Branch is looking to hire a Group Exercise Instructor! ABOUT Greater Valley YMCA Greater Valley YMCA is a charitable, nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our communities through membership and programs that foster youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility for all . Group Exercise Instructor Salary : $16.00-$22.00 per hour Group Exercise Instructor Hours : Hours vary based on availability (Part Time) Group Exercise Instructor Responsibilities : Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals Asks and answers questions from program participants and members to support them in achieving their goals related to health and well-being Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members and program participants connect with each other and the YMCA Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture Celebrates achievement of program participants related to program or personal goals, mastering of specific skills or overall health and well-being Keeps accurate class attendance records. Maintains organization of Program Studios Follows YMCA policies and procedures Performs other duties as assigned Group Exercise Instructor Qualifications : Nationally recognized Group Fitness Instructor certification (ACE, AFAA, NASM, or similar) or YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification Certification in areas of expertise and/or Specialty certification for registered trademark classes (Silver Sneakers, RIPPED, Zumba, POUND, and similar classes) One (1) or more years of experience teaching group exercise classes Working knowledge of strength, free weight, and cardio-respiratory equipment Ability to perform essential functions Ability to think independently and take direction Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting Good organizational and leadership skills Good analytical/critical thinking CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within thirty (30) days of employment Able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Y staff and members Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good customer service skills, high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image, and a team player Must possess sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment skills, and a positive attitude Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required Group Exercise Instructor Benefits: Free Membership to the Y Training & Development Wellness Resources Retirement Plan (403b) and (401a) - (Employer contribution up to 8%) Childcare discounts (up to 50% off) Salary: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer All Qualified Women, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and US Veterans Encouraged to Apply ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
