Role: Survey Crew Chief Industry: Engineering Location: Nashville, TN Remote or Hybrid Options: N/A-Travel required HOurlyy Range: $28.00 - $35.00 Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt/Benefits Overview: The Survey Crew Chief will have the experience to ensure the accuracy of fieldwork and supervise a two or three-person field crew. This position will also perform field calculations, operate and maintain survey equipment, make proper field notes and sketches, ensure the proper maintenance of crew vehicles, adhere to all applicable safety procedures, and other duties as necessary to complete complex land surveying projects. This position may require out-of-town work. This position is responsible for providing surveying field support for various types of land surveying projects. Requirements: 3+ years of experience in surveying as a Crew Chief, preferably in DOT or Boundary Surveying Must have experience with GPS, Robotic total stations, and data collectors Some knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads and Open Roads Designer, and Trimble Business Center Software Scanning and drone flight experience is preferred FAA Part 107 license is preferred Prefer to have an Associate degree or higher in a survey program or equivalent Key Responsibilities: Work primarily in the field of land surveys including control, boundary, topographic, DOT, construction layouts, and more Collect survey data per industry and client specifications, scopes of work, and field manager direction Daily processing, uploading, and downloading of data collectors Supervise all members of the survey crew Daily coordination with survey field manager, project managers, and other office staff as needed Willing and able to continually learn new techniques, processes, and equipment operation Perform office duties including data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks, and staking computations using survey computer programs as needed If you meet the above requirements and feel confident in your ability to perform these tasks, please apply online or submit your resume to XXXX@ascendrecruitingpartners.com
