Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering team. The Director of Data Engineering will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing data pipelines, databases, and analytics infrastructure to support our media measurement and analytics platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, cloud computing, and team leadership, with a passion for leveraging data to drive positive social change. Responsibilities: Manage data engineering tasks, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines, databases, and analytics infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science, product management, and client services, to understand business requirements and develop data solutions to meet those needs. Design and architect scalable and reliable data pipelines to ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources. Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security to ensure the integrity and reliability of our data assets. Work closely with data scientists and analysts to develop and deploy machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, cloud computing, and analytics, and identify opportunities to incorporate new tools and techniques into our platform. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex data solutions. Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with data processing frameworks. Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire a team of data engineers. Passion for leveraging data to drive positive social change and make a difference in the world. Location: Remote Salary: Base up to $150,000/yr with benefits and equity options available.
