An Extremely RARE, Chester County, American Chippendale Hall Mirror ,having it's Original Glass Mirror, and Gold Leaf , Re-Guilded Frame, the Back Boards are also original. This Mirror is very Heavy ,and it weighs about 40 pounds. If you choose to hand it ,,please make sure that it has a Well Made Metal Hanging Hook .This Mirror was Originally Hung in the Reception Hallway, at the Main Entrance of The Ellis Island Immigration Center, on Ellis Island in the New York Harbor. The Original Ellis Island information is still seen on the Back of the Mirror, on the Left Side Strut. It measures 22" wide x 44 1/2" High. Imagine the Hundreds of Immigrants that Pose a Breif Second or Two ,to see themselves in this Mirror upon Landing in America ..I was priveledged to be called on to Design the Roof System ,and Some of the Design work on the Ellis island Restoration, and this Mirror was given to me by one of the Famous Managers that was in charge of Construction there. He Was in Total Charge of this Restoration. This Mirror is Hard to be Shipped, and it would be very Expensive,.but the new Owner can pick it up at my Home in Central Pennsylvania , at no Charge.This Piece of American History, Mirror has an Estimated Shop or Show Value of between 4,800.00 ,and 5,700.00 I'm selling it with NO reserve, and only one Penny to start. Insured Boxed shipping in not Recommended, but It can be done ,this shipping will cost 585.85.
