Description:
This is a quality antique Soprano from the '20s. All Koa wood. One-piece arched Koa back. Neck has nice and unusual "volute" at headstock for strength. From what I read, Kaholas were made in Hawaii and in the manner characteristic of Nunes. The arched back gives the instrument greater loudness.This appears to be all original. Needs new strings. Ivoriod friction tuners work well and are good looking. Ebony nut. Original Muslin carrying bag in poor condition. Some wear, possible tight crack below the bridge. Numbers have been written on the top below bridge. They are faint and visible in some lighting but not a distraction.Later models were made by Gretsch in the 1940s and 1950s.
