Description:
Position Overview: We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Responsibilities: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner Reconcile bank and credit card statements Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and financial reports Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation Assist with payroll processing and related tasks Prepare and file sales tax returns and other regulatory filings Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial transactions Assist with ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues and improve processes Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance role Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Famous) and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively Strong communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles preferred
