She made a wish and lucky Star is now safe in a foster home with food in her belly and readying for travel. She is approximately 12 weeks old and currently 10 pounds and fostered in TN with another dog. There are no kids in the home but she's met several at the local park and just wants to play. She LOOOOVES toys, learned to sit, and is crate and house trained too in just a week's time. She enjoys her leash walks and playtime in the yard too. Star needs a forever home on 5/4 and her pick up is in Amesbury MA. Southern foster mom notes her as having medium-energy for a puppy and says––"Star is a 3 month old lab mix who has a white soul patch and white twinkletoes. She is very playful and loves tug toys and other dogs. Right now her favorite toy is a rubber chicken. She likes to watch TV with her current foster family. She also likes to people watch and is very keen to meet people at the park. She is crate trained, potty trained and walks well on leash." Rescue story––Star was found in a restaurant parking lot as a stray and picked up and landed at the shelter. Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival to MA. Pups not pre-adopted are available to meet in their MA foster homes after your application is approved. During this timeframe, your pups not only see our isolation vet twice but also receive additional rounds of dewormer along with pre + probiotics; transition to Canidae food; additional behavior assessments as they decompress; and so much love and thoughtfulness from our volunteers. Your pups are bathed at intake and again before pick up. All are paired in kennels with littermates or for those that travel alone, we have a rotation of volunteers to visit with them. We provide enrichment throughout the day and meditation music during nap time and through the overnight. We use these 48 hours to ready your pup to transition into a foster or adoptive home and do all that we can to reduce their stress while they are with us.
