IMPORTANT: All applications MUST be completed in its entirety to be considered. *NOTE: All employees are required to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine Position Description The Senior Manager, Behavioral Health position reports to the Interim Chief Administrative Officer and serves as both an administrative leader and a part-time health center provider. This role is integral to a high-performing integrated health team. Responsibilities include providing leadership and direction for all behavioral health services operations, including the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program. The Senior Manager Behavioral Health supervises staff in the Behavioral Health department (including MAT), oversees behavioral health services in primary care and School-Based health centers, and delivers a comprehensive range of effective behavioral health services to patients. Essential Functions: Administrative/Supervision Tasks Manages and supervises behavioral health clinicians and other designated staff to ensure effective oversight and leadership. Manages behavioral health programs, including behavioral health, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and School-Based Health Centers with MAT. Responsibilities include overseeing reporting, staffing, problem resolution, finances, and performance improvement. Delivers training, in-service sessions, and facilitates staff meetings as needed. Responsible for monitoring clinical productivity and collaborating with management to identify trends and implement strategies for improvement. Oversees challenges that arise outside of regular business hours which affect behavioral health programs. Serves on relevant committees and learning groups pertaining to behavioral health issues, with a focus on primary care integration efforts. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, working closely with the management team. Collaborates with the executive team to develop the annual budget, providing recommendations and ensuring adherence to the existing budget. Assist in grant writing for behavioral health funding opportunities. Clinical Tasks Provides consultative behavioral health services to PCPs and their patients at least 8 hours a week. Available for consultation with other clinic staff regarding community resources. Provides primarily psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, families and groups, based on individual treatment plans. Plans treatment based on the individual’s needs and resources as well as on clinic and community resources. Maintains good communication and collaborative relationships with referring medical providers and staff. Recommends additional referrals for patients as needed. Coordinates with professionals involved in patient care to insure collaboration and continuity of services. Refers patients with serious mental health conditions necessitating inpatient or specialty care. Provides crisis assessment and intervention as appropriate regarding degree of danger and immediacy of crisis situations. Designs and carries out appropriate interventions in crisis situations. Maintains appropriate patient information in the medical record. Completes clinical documentation in accordance with the Honor Community Health policy. Clinical Policy, Procedure, and Workflow Collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer, Director of Quality, and Compliance Administrator to uphold Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement, and Risk Management protocols, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and State and Federal regulations. Participates in the quality improvement program to ensure patients receive high-quality care from healthcare providers, utilizing peer review, medical record audits, grievances, and other appropriate mechanisms. Maintains current knowledge of trends and best practices and standards in community health centers utilizing an integrated health model, utilizing internal and external resources in coordination with management team. Responsible for the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for integrated health programs. Organizational Leadership Works cooperatively with management and other staff internally and supports external compliance activities such as reporting, audits, and technical assistance. Carries out all duties with the highest professional standards, especially maintenance of patient confidentiality, as delineated in the professional code of ethics. What are we looking for? MSW or PhD in Social Work or related field from an accredited school; current license to practice in the State of Michigan. Three years progressive clinical leadership skills Demonstrate competence in working at a senior management level. Ability to articulate and communicate organizational values and mission to diverse audiences. Demonstrate competence in working cooperatively with physicians and other health care professionals in an integrated health setting. Knowledge and experience in health care finance, including ability to meet financial performance goals. Demonstrate competence in Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrate competence in electronic health record, NextGen preferred. Demonstrated ability to maintain positive professional relationships at all levels. Commitment to the corporate Mission Statemen t in the healthcare field. Evidence of sound judgment, sophisticated analytical and leadership skills. Experience working for a community health center or Federally Qualified Heath Center preferred.
