Locations: VA - McLean, United States of America, McLean, VirginiaPrincipal Associate, Product Design: Content Design - Tech.xdWe're seeking a mid-level content designer to join one of our Enterprise Product & Experience design (EPX.xd) teams dedicated to designing and delivering world-class developer experiences that empower our internal technologists to do their best work.Our team is passionate about giving content a voice in the design process, so you'll deeply embed into top-priority projects and initiatives, leading or co-leading work alongside your design teammates and partners from product, tech, engineering, marketing and legal. You'll work most closely with our technologists to improve their day-to-day activities and workflows.Come help us shape our products, the evolution of our content practice and the larger community of content designers at Capital One!Please note: Content designers at Capital One focus on user experience product design. This is not a content marketing, blogging, social media or communications role. What You'll Do: You'll be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities, including: Collaborating & Connecting Collaborate with the research team to understand user needs and with design, technology, product and business teams to uncover business goals Think strategically about the work, leveraging research insights and human-centered design methods to influence strategic decision-making with immediate cross-functional partners Embrace and advocate for an experience mindset-this is as important to the work as the results Represent and clearly communicate your craft perspective within your team and cross-functional partners, facilitating conversations that champion your craft perspective and showcase end-to-end content design strategy Use human-centered storytelling that integrates design frameworks, data and research insights to effectively articulate content design decisions Facilitate and participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to align with business needs Discovering & Delivering Bring your subject matter expertise to discovery and ideation activities to help generate many possible solutionsCraft elegantly simplistic, consistent user experiences through the combination of language, patterns and guidelines, information architecture and design system componentsCreate scalable patterns and guidelines for notifications, error messaging, data insights and more within an established design systemEnsure that all content adheres to compliance requirements and is clear, easy to understand, and written in natural languageDesign content workshops that scale content solutions and upskill other designers Basic Qualifications At least 4+ years of experience writing and designing content for web and mobile product experiences Preferred Qualifications Experience with content creation for multi-channel experiencesExperience collaborating with designers and developersComfortable working with a variety of business partners and delivering outcomesFamiliarity with working in an established design systemStrong presentation skills and experience sharing strategic rationale with partners and stakeholdersAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $134,100 - $153,000 for Pr. Associate, DesignCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
