We need talented,passionate and customer centric people to bepart of our future.This position is responsible for managing the Machining Operations Center (MOC), reporting tothe Director of Manufacturing Operations at theMissiles and Fire Control plant located inOrlando, FL. The MOC produces ultra-precisionmachined components that are the foundation ofelectro-optic targeting systems used primarily fordefense applications. The parts supplied by thiscenter support sales in excess of $1B annually. This position will have direct responsibility forthe manufacturing staff (machinists, supervision,inspection, paint, plating, and assembly) and willalso direct the daily activities of the Functionalsupport staff, approximately 200 people overall.Candidates must have direct leadershipexperience in a complex manufacturingenvironment and be able to balance multipleprogram priorities through a commonmanufacturing facility. This position isresponsible for planning labor and equipmentcapacity, including management of the capitalinvestment required to execute the plannedbusiness. Other responsibilities includerecruiting and training of the technician andsupervision staff in a Collective BargainingAgreement (union) environment, leadership ofthe MOC Corrective Action Board (CAB) andmanagement of the continuous improvementprocess through the use of Lean Manufacturingconcepts. This position is responsible forsuccessful Nonrecurring Expenditures (NRE) anddelivery of parts from the MOC within cost, onschedule and ensuring the quality of thehardware.The successful candidate must demonstrate theability to lead and motivate a workforce withdiverse technical skills. The ideal candidate willhave a proven record of leadership in acomparable manufacturing environment. Basic Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering,Manufacturing or related field. Sufficient technical aptitude to understandcustomer needs, plan success strategies, andexecute.Minimum of 10 years of related experience inproduction operations or engineering and with 5years experience leading and motivating amanufacturing team.Superior communication skills, written andverbal, to support regular presentations to theexecutive staff.Demonstrated ability to manage production costexperience, delivery parts on time and meetquality standards.Proven ability to get results and manage diverseresources.Must have the ability to obtain a US GovernmentSecurity Clearance. Desired Skills: Manufacturing leadership experience in a highmix, low volume production environment.Technical experience with Infrared or electro-optic systems.Experience working with ultra-precisionmachines, machining processes, and mechanicalassemblies.Experience in both a prototype andmanufacturing machining environment.Experience working in a DOD manufacturingenvironment.Experience leading in a union environment.Demonstrated ability to think strategically.Demonstrated commitment to PerformanceManagement Teams (PMT).Demonstrated MRP and procurement experience.Proven ability to utilize Lean/6 Sigma principlesto get results. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
