Description:
Talladega College is seeking an Assistant Professor to teach Biology courses in the Biology program. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Department Chair and is slated to begin in fall 2024. Responsibilities Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and research. Teaching responsibilities to include innovative and engaging use of technology in the classroom. Establish a competitive and productive research program that provides opportunities and mentoring for undergraduate research. Compete for extramural grant support. Assist students in identifying and applying for research internships, fellowships and acceptance to graduate and professional schools. Develop research collaborations with colleagues at Talladega College and other institutions. Collaborate with teaching faculty to incorporate research in courses. Serve on division and college committees. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ph.D. in Biology or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Three years’ experience in higher education. A collaborative and inclusive approach to working with colleagues and students, promoting diversity and equity. The ideal candidate will have excellent teaching skills, good interpersonal skills, effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to function collegially as a member of the faculty.
