This role provides patrons with a positive memorable experience while visiting our programming events by serving enjoyable beverages. This role is a supportive role for our programming events. Bartenders work directly with staff and outside vendors to communicate the specific needs of each event. The Bartender is responsible for providing beverages to guests and assisting in the execution of rentals. This role has broad knowledge and experience in bartending and customer service. This position reports to the Event and Hospitality Coordinator. This is a pool position. Application materials for bartender positions are accepted on an on-going basis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sell and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests while ensuring compliance with applicable bartending laws and regulations. Promptly respond to guest needs and requests to establish a satisfying atmosphere. Assist with stocking and maintaining liquor and bar supplies. Greet guests promptly and proactively. Maintain bar cleanliness and safety. Follow processes and procedures for rentals and inventory. Facilitate the overall set up and dismantling of bars at each event.Other job duties assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Multi-tasking Strong customer service Conflict resolution Adaptability Attention to accuracy and detail Projects a professional, polished and welcoming image Qualifications High School diploma or GED Obtain/maintain WI bartender’s license. Two years of prior bartending experience preferred. Two years’ experience in customer service. Mixology experience preferred Basic mathematical skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings. Able to read and interpret documents, write routine correspondence, speak effectively with others. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standard situations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The position is café/retail/art gallery based and noise level usually moderate. May occasionally work outside at events where noise level could be moderate to loud. Hours of work include daytime hours Monday – Friday and occasionally Saturday and Sunday to meet staffing and/or event needs. The position works at various locations depending on the schedule.
