GCS is GCP's largest storage product and a significant contributor to GCP's business.The Storage Infrastructure (SI) team is tasked with Durability, Efficiency, Data Management, and Capacity planning responsibilities for GCS. As the Principal Engineer for SI, you will be responsible for key aspects of technical direction and innovation strategy for GCS, with direct impact over critical business objectives.Google Cloud accelerates organizations' ability to digitally transform their business with the best infrastructure, platform, industry solutions and expertise. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum qualifications: 15 years of professional software engineering experience Experience with technical innovation Experience building distributed systems Experience in the storage technical domain Preferred qualifications: Experience with data management for AI/ML training Responsibilities Provide the technical outlook and strategy for initiatives and projects in this domain. Design and lead a multi-year technical roadmap, balancing short and long-term technology investments. Develop product roadmap for GCS with Product Managers, Engineering, and other cross-functional partners. Review technical designs from the team and guide technical discussions.
