Join our team and join us in the fight for a stronger Miami! United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a Director, Community Impact to join our team. As Director, Community Impact you will provide guidance and direction in United Way's efforts to advance an impact agenda through the range of United Way tactics and tools, including investments in community programs, special community initiatives, area-specific initiatives, and capacity building in the area of Health. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead United Way's health impact area and provide leadership and guidance to the impact council in the achievement of measurable community-level improvements in this area. Responsibilities include the development of impact area goals, measurable milestones, and council plans, as well as the implementation of the plans toward goal attainment. Strategies may include investments in programs and initiatives, development of and/or participation in community collaborations, public policy issues identification, grant writing to secure resources, etc. Grant management includes oversight of impact area program reviews and assessments. Develop, nurture, and supervise community collaborations and partnerships that advance United Way's impact agenda. Explore avenues to extend the reach and impact of United Way's community engagement efforts through partnerships and community problem-solving. Represent United Way at various community meetings, including short-term special task forces, conferences, and committees; attend and participate in UW special events to support our fundraising efforts. Lead the management of the United Way Audit committee to include volunteer management, review and grading of agency audits, special meetings, and other follow-up as needed. Due to the leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly in times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts. Responsible for the supervision of subordinate employees which includes training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining and directing tasks. Has authority to hire, transfer, promote, compensate, or terminate subordinate employees or recommend such actions. Requirements: Education Requirements: Master's degree in human or social services or equivalent experience. Experience Requirements: Minimum of five years experience in community relations and outreach. Technology Requirements: Knowledge of modern web browsers and Outlook; Microsoft Office Suite Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication skills both written and oral, problem-solving skills, good judgment, ability to work with various stakeholders (agencies, volunteers, community counterparts, internal constituencies. Project management experience and detail-oriented. Ability to facilitate relationships.
