Associates in this role are responsible for assisting guests with product inquiries, sales transactions, merchandising, and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment. WHO YOU ARE As a Hotel Retail Shop Associate, you are a customer-focused, friendly, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a retail setting. You have a passion for helping guests find the perfect souvenirs, gifts, or items they need during their stay. Your goal is to create a positive and memorable shopping experience for hotel guests. WHAT YOU WILL DO Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, assisting with product inquiries, and offering recommendations based on their needs and preferences. Sales: Actively engage with guests to promote products, make sales, and meet or exceed sales targets. Upsell and cross-sell merchandise and promotions when appropriate. Cash Handling: Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely. Operate cash registers and POS systems to process sales and returns. Product Knowledge: Acquire in-depth knowledge of the products available in the retail shop, including their features, benefits, and pricing. Stay informed about new arrivals and promotions. Merchandising: Assist in arranging and displaying merchandise to maximize visual appeal and sales potential. Keep the store well-organized and ensure shelves are fully stocked. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and report discrepancies. Assist in receiving and unpacking merchandise shipments. Gift Wrapping: Offer gift-wrapping services to guests, ensuring that items are wrapped neatly and professionally. Returns and Exchanges: Handle returns and exchanges following the hotel's policies and procedures. Process refunds or exchanges promptly and courteously. Store Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the retail shop. Regularly clean and dust display areas, counters, and shelves. Security: Prevent theft and maintain security by monitoring guests' behavior and reporting suspicious activities. Comply with loss prevention measures. Promotions and Marketing: Assist in implementing marketing and promotional activities, such as displays, signage, and sales events, to attract guests and drive sales. Customer Feedback: Gather and record customer feedback and suggestions. Address customer concerns and report feedback to higher management for improvement. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all retail shop policies, including pricing accuracy, returns, and store opening and closing procedures. Operational Support: Assist with various operational tasks, such as restocking supplies, maintaining cleanliness in the storage area, and helping with inventory audits. Continual Learning: Stay updated on hotel amenities, services, and local attractions to provide guests with relevant information and recommendations.
