Inclusion Specialist (Midlands area)

Classification: Part time; Monday-Friday; hours vary; $16.00 an hour General Function: Plan, implement, facilitate, and supervise activities and events for special needs. Create a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social and intellectual development of members in order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of the members. Assist in toiletry and feeding of club member if needed. Promote safety of members, quality of programs and appearance of the Club at all times. Knowledge, skills and abilities: •Ability to deal effectively with staff, youth, parents, local community leaders, schools and churches•Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills •Knowledge of youth development. Education and Experience: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in Special Education or related field or 2 years program delivery experience with special needs. Job Responsibilities: •Plan, implement, facilitate, supervise and evaluate all programs, activities and events.•Understand the Clubs' philosophy, vision and goals.•Develop special events and activities for core program areas.•Plan and implement quality programs for youth.•Provide guidance and role modeling to members.•Motivate members through effective communication and evaluative feedback.•Implement and develop curriculums that are aligned with program themes and events.•Assist in the execution of national projects and exhibits.•Assist in toiletry and feeding to include changing diapers (if needed).•May be required to lift child.•Mentor and inspire youth, adults and volunteers in the creative process.•Keep records of participants, schedules, attendance and program results.•Mandatory First Aid/CPR.•Other duties as assigned. Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities while at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, standing for up to four hours per day, and ability to implement programs. Skills essential for success include speaking, writing and knowledge of the computer.
