We have opportunities for indoors and outdoor camps.. We are interviewing in February with training at the end of May 2024. APPLY TODAY! Job Summary: Baroody Camps, Inc. provides camps to school children in various counties throughout the Northern Virginia area throughout the summer and school year months. We provide opportunities to manage and teach kids during our camps. We are looking for individuals who are interested in teaching elementary school children in various activities including (but not limited to) art, science, building and sports. Flexible hours with half day and full day options available. **Outside Camps are not flexible hours due to driving off-site. *will be scheduled weekly and hours range from 25-40 per week depending on availability *must be available for the full week of camp (Monday-Friday) This is a seasonal role that will begin in June and run through August. The ideal candidate can work at least 4 weeks. Positions will be open in: Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria and Falls Church! Responsibilities and Duties: Build and develop positive, caring and appropriate relationships with campers. Treat all campers fairly with kindness, dignity and respect. Assisting to manage a small group of kids by taking attendance and accounting for them at all times Ensure children's safety, manage children's behavior and act as a role model while participating with campers in all daily activities. Helping to facilitate age-appropriate activities for elementary school aged children activities that give children a sense of accomplishment that comes from mastering techniques and completing projects. Help keep all children engaged in daily activities (i.e. signals to get attention, positive feedback, model positive attitude about projects, conflict resolution, etc.) Prepare materials needed for activities, clean up after the activities. Expectations: Arrive on time each day Assisting in managing kids safely Complete activities in a safe but fun and exciting manner Communicate directly with Camp Counselor, Site Director,Managers and student parents Qualifications and Skills: Must be eligible to work in the United States Must be at least 15 years of age Flexibility and willingness to adapt to different situations and learn from lead counselors Works well under pressure Must have reliable transportation Paid Training: On the job training, provided.
