MANAGEMENT ANALYST II/PARALEGAL Assists in performing general paralegal duties, with primary focus on document review and production as part of ongoing Litigation. Assists with the legal discovery process, collecting data and reviewing it in paper format or in various electronic formats. Tracks and manages cases in electronic data systems, assists in drafting and distributing legal holds, and assists in researching precedent and processes related to individual cases. Updates case management tools, such as PACER, both internally and externally. Provides general support in litigation and other legal matters as assigned. Provides good customer service. Qualification/Skills Graduation from an accredited paralegal program or law school or 3 years of experience performing paralegal work in the Federal Government. Direct knowledge of the litigation process and the rules of Civil Procedure. Direct knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). One year of experience reviewing documents within the context of ongoing litigation. One year of experience using commercially available forensic document review platform. Preferred: One year experience at the Department of State. Ability to reach sound conclusions or make recommendations that are based strictly on information. Ability to deal effectively with individuals at various levels of the Department and other federal agencies. Knowledge of and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to plan, schedule, and conduct studies and analyses of management functions or programs Knowledge of substantive programs, goals, pertinent laws, and policies to analyze and assemble information. Knowledge of management and organizational techniques, systems, and procedures necessary to perform analytical studies. Excellent writing skills and command of the English language Excellent time management, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail Professional competence and specialized knowledge base that is maintained by keeping abreast of emerging themes and best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Clearance Requirements The position will be subject to a U.S. Government Security Investigation. Individuals must possess or obtain/maintain a minimum a SECRET clearance, up to a TOP SECRET clearance as requested by the program. Place of Performance Primarily, the work will take place at a designated Department of State Location in Washington, DC. This position is teleworked eligible and may be authorized in accordance with OPM and DS policy, only with the approval of the assigned Government Office/ Program Director.
