About the Opportunity As a Cloud SRE Engineering Chapter Leader, you blend your strong technical knowledge and technical leadership with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing people. You are deeply committed to improving the value delivered to our customers and consumers by collaborating with other leaders and Product Managers to establish the SRE practice and framework that will be the standard for the cloud foundational product. In this growth opportunity role, you will directly manage a team of Site Reliability Engineers who will be both a mix of designated to product squads and focused on enhancing the SRE practice. You are intellectually curious and are committed to developing your own expertise and empowering others by bringing the latest thinking to your role. What You Will Do: * Ensure chapter talent composition and workforce planning aligns with strategic business priorities. * Support and empower chapter members to enable delivery of increased value in their teams through continuous improvement and learning. * Enable an agile and frictionless organization by demonstrating agile behaviors. * Proactively partnering with other Chapter and Product leaders to: - Influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions. - Measure performance through established objectives and KPI’s. - Align chapter members across squads and product areas to ensure the best utilization of talent. - Drive resource planning to align with product roadmaps. - Drive adoption of DevOps best practices, empower teams to optimize and automate, enable continual improvement, toil reduction and develop capabilities to measure code quality, test coverage and defect management. - Set and apply standards and ensure the work performed is aligned with established road maps. - Remove impediments to delivering value. - Actively sharing insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments across the organization. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. * Certified Site Reliability Engineering Foundation and Practitioner Level * Strong ability to partner and influence key strategies. * Product Management experience preferred. * Development, Observability, Data Science, and Cloud experience preferred. * 5+ years of experience building various components of scalable enterprise applications. * 5+ years of experience successfully leading, coaching, mentoring and developing technical team(s) within a product centric organization. * 1-3 years of experience in standing up and leading an SRE and or DevOps team * Experience creating strategy and organizational change management * Experience with Agile methodology and tools. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with which to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization. * Decision making experience using a data-focused approach in day-to-day leadership situations and strategic tradeoff analyses. * Adaption of continuous delivery-based engineering practices * Familiarity with running software on Cloud Service Providers like Amazon Web Services or Azure * Financial services experience is preferred. Eligibility for this specific position requires U.S. Citizenship or three or more years of Permanent Resident (Green Card) status. * The hiring range is $140,400 – $193,050 annually. * For candidates outside Richmond, VA, listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location. * Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications. * Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
