The Materials Manager is responsible for the Materials functions for the Grandview location, including, Warehouse, MRO, and material flow functions for manufacturing and our on-site distribution center. The successful candidate will be responsible for inventory levels and accuracy at the Grandview plant and North American Distribution Center, ensuring proper rotation and aged inventory.RESPONSIBILITIES * Control inventory levels for both production items and MRO items based on company established goals. Facilitate and manage any physical inventory counts with the cooperation of the accounting department. * Provide information and reports to management as required for materials management; pricing reports, regulatory compliance reports, etc. * Establish budget for Warehouse, Materials, and Tool Crib Cost Centers and operate within stated budget. * Source and negotiate price for purchase of material. Provide material cost estimates for product costing. Communicate appropriate purchasing prices and policies to plant buyers. * Manage Imported Goods inventory in the NADC ensuring inventory accuracy and timely shipping. * Facilitate the Material Qualification Team for Grandview * Manage shipments and shipments performance to ensure accurate and timely departure of orders. * Manage AGV system and work to improve efficiencies.EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution. * Four years related experience and/or training. * Equivalent combination of education and experience. * Knowledge of the fundamentals and practices of production control, plant scheduling, and materials requirements planning. * Excellent analytical skills required to review computer prepared: sales order, inventory, schedule, and other data and identify problems and delays in sustaining uninterrupted production. * MRP and ERP (JDE or SAP Preferred) systems and applications required. * Knowledge of Automated Warehousing and material movement in a manufacturing environment desired, but not required. * APICS certification and CPM desirable, but not required.LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMERThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.All job requirements are subject to possible modification to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
