We're on the lookout for dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team and be part of something extraordinary.π Clinical Expertise that Counts! πAt our institution, we are looking for professionals who:π€ Collaborate for Progress: Work hand-in-hand with our administration and school staff to enforce policies on substance use and related issues.πΌ Manage Referrals with Care: Guide students who have violated our school's drug and alcohol policy or those seeking help for substance use problems.π Facilitate Re-entry: Lead school re-entry meetings with students and parents/guardians to chart the path forward.π Assess and Refer: Conduct initial substance abuse assessments and make referrals to treatment facilities when needed.π€ Offer Support: Provide short-term individual and/or group counseling for students in need.π’ Coordinate Care: Offer intervention, recommend referrals, and provide follow-up support for students in outpatient or residential programs.π€ Build Collaborative Aftercare Plans: Collaborate with treatment facilities, counselors, parents/guardians, and students to develop and implement aftercare plans.π― Educate and Prevent: Deliver substance abuse prevention programs to students and organize informative sessions for faculty and staff.π Manage Cases with Care: Offer case management services as needed.π§βπ¦ Engage Parents/Guardians: Plan and execute parent/guardian education programs on substance awareness and related topics, in cooperation with district personnel and community agencies.π Prioritize Confidentiality: Maintain confidential records in accordance with federal and state law and Board policy. π Document Effectively: Complete documentation following agency and program guidelines.π Be a Valuable Resource: Serve as a resource for district personnel on substance awareness and abuse matters.π€ Connect with the Community: Attend local committee meetings, such as Essex County ADAPT Coalition and CIACC.π Shape Policies: Assist in developing and reviewing policies and procedures related to substance use and abuse, and recommend improvements to the administration.π¨ Handle Crisis Situations: Demonstrate the ability to employ appropriate interventions in both crisis and non-crisis situations.β€οΈ Foster Empathy: Create a non-judgmental and empathetic environment, welcoming a range of feelings and personal expressions.π Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should have:π A Master's Degree in Social Work or an equivalent field.π State licensure/certification specific to your degree, such as LSW or LPC.π₯ Experience in mental health and substance use, especially with diverse populations in an urban setting.π Preferred: LCADC Certification π Knowledge and Skills: You should also possess:π§ Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and various treatment modalities, including group, family, and individual treatment.π Awareness of community resources, social services, and mental health systems.π¨ Proficiency in appropriate clinical interventions for crisis and non-crisis situations.π Understanding of treatment interventions for adolescents with mental health concerns, co-occurring diagnoses, and trauma.π€ The ability to conduct biopsychosocial assessments and make differential diagnoses.π£οΈ The skill to engage adolescents effectively in individual and group counseling.π’ The capability to mobilize individual strengths and connect clients to concrete services.π€ The aptitude to work with challenging or resistant clients.π Strong written and oral communication skills.π’ The ability to establish a warm, collaborative, non-judgmental therapeutic atmosphere.π Setting appropriate boundaries and limits with clients.π A commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.π Strong written and oral communication skills.π A professional and collaborative approach to multi-disciplinary teamwork.π Professional Characteristics: We are looking for individuals who embody these qualities:π€ Warm and Open π Empathetic and Attentive Listener π§ Self-Aware and Ethical π¨ Creative and Organized π Flexible and Open to Criticism π° Patient and Responsible π₯ Able to Work Independently and in a Team π Mature and Self-Motivated π Dedicated and Enthusiastic π Willing to Take on Additional Tasks and Responsibilities π Interested in Seeking Additional Training and Skillsπ’ Work Environment/Physical Demands: The role may involve:π Frequent Standing and Movement π Bending, Reaching, and Squatting π§ Lifting up to or in excess of 50 poundsWe are committed to creating a supportive work environment and will consider reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.π Join Our Team and Ignite Change! πReady to be part of a team that is passionate about making a difference?
