LOCATION: Shreveport, LouisianaDOB: 12/23/2020June. June Bug. June Bug Carter! This gorgeous little miss has the most spectacular Blue Harlequin markings and beautiful, golden eyes and she will absolutely melt your heart and love you to the moon and back!Going back a ways, June Bug didn’t have the best manners when she started out in foster care. Her inside manners were negligent and her outside manners were not much better. But she has made a whole lot of progress and is turning out to be quite the lovebug who has a nice balance of activity and couch potato-ness. She loves being around other dogs. She is great around kids, but she can get the zoomies, so a home with children over 8 years old would be ideal. Cats are unknown. Prior to her foster home, she did use a crate when she would be left unsupervised. When left alone to her own devices, June Bug enjoys counter-surfing, getting into the ever-so-tempting trash, and chewing on her mama’s shoes after she's finished de-stuffing her many dog toys and gnawing on her dog bones.Sweet Junie has been in a few unfortunate situations that were very stressful - a severe storm and a car ride. But she did great and she appreciated having a warm, comforting lap nearby to snuggle into. For her leash training, she does well, but sometimes can get under foot so a little more work would get her from good to great. She has a beautiful deep voice that she isn’t afraid to use. One of her favorite activities is laying on the couch and monitoring through the doors and windows the comings and goings of the world around her. And if her outside neighbor happens to be a dog buddy, she will run to the fence and give her friend a few good shout-outs. But she will come right back in when she is called. June Bug Carter is a doll. She will snuggle up with you wherever you are and rest her little head right on you. She has gone from a challenging dog to one that has overcome challenges and now fits in beautifully with a family.
