LABOR CATEGORIES Statement of Work, LABOR CATEGORY - UI/UX Designer Location: Norfolk, VA, USA (On-site at ODU Research Park /Innovation Hub)Number of Candidates: 1Candidate Period of Performance: Base Period: 1 January 2024 – 31 December 2024Option Period One: 1 January 2025 – 31 December 2025.Job Related Taskings:1. Gather and evaluate user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and programmers2. Provide advice to the PM and PO on backlog prioritization3. Create user stories, personas and storyboards4. Determine information architecture and create sitemaps5. Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps6. Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets7. Build page navigation buttons and search fields8. Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like9. Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables)10.Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders11.Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)12.Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback13.Conduct usability testing14.Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images15.Develop task flows and wireframes based on user needs16.Create supporting artwork for Minimum Viable Products17.Create user training artefacts (including short video)Essential Qualifications 1. University degree in Human Computer Interaction, Information Science, Human Factors, Human Centered Design and Engineering, or related discipline OR 5 years’ experience as a UI/UX Designer2. Strong experience in the development of artefacts such as sketches, prototypes, high-fidelity mock-ups, motion design, and project documentation3. Proficient in a variety of design and prototyping tools — Sketch, Miro, Figma , Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, or others4. Knowledge of Section 508 and W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines5. Experience working with teams embracing Agile DevSecOps principles6. Strong skills with User Centered Design (UCD) methods7. Able to work with a balanced team approach sharing context and decisions8. Able to work with the Product Manager (PM) to iterate on the backlog9. Flexible with dynamic changes to the product10. Excellent management, communication, and presentation skills11. Experience collaborating with a team of programmers with a varying of skillsets12. Experience working in a rapid and interactive development environment13.
