Alana is a charming companion with a heart of gold. Though she may have faced some challenges in recent years, she still radiates sweetness and affection. After finding herself in need of a new home, she has returned to us, ready to embark on a journey of love and care once again. While Alana may initially be timid around unfamiliar faces and situations, she has shown great progress with patient introductions to dogs of similar size. However, she prefers the company of larger dogs and may not be the best fit for households with small dogs or cats. Her past experiences have left her a bit wary of men, but with time and gentle reassurance, she warms up beautifully. Like any individual, Alana has her quirks, including some resource guarding tendencies, but beneath it all, she's a devoted soul who simply wants to be loved and to shower her affection on those around her. She's mastered the art of potty training and finds solace in snoozing at your feet, embodying the true meaning of companionship. While Alana may need a bit of encouragement to reach her ideal weight, she's embracing her dietary adjustments with grace. She's content with one meal a day, though she may sneak a treat or two from her human companions! Despite her low energy levels most of the time, she can't resist the occasional burst of playful energy, delighting in zooming around the yard. Although Alana prefers not to be alone, she's surprisingly adaptable. She settles well in a crate overnight and, while she may voice her initial protests during the day, she quickly adjusts unless there's a flurry of activity around her. Alana is a rescue from a high kill animal shelter in Texas. She is completely potty trained, leash trained and crate trained. She also knows basic obedience commands. Alana is a sweet mature girl who loves her people and seeks affection. She has shown a bit higher prey drive, so cats and smaller dogs are not a good match with her. All in all, she is just a sweet, low key girl who's looking for the perfect someone(s) to enjoy life with.
