Adopt Icy (I'm in foster care!) a Domestic Shorthair / Mixed cat in Brooklyn

Location:
Brooklyn, NY
Description:

To meet or adopt Icy, please visit https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt ! We are not able to reply to DMs, emails or inquiries made through 3rd party pet adoption websites. Age: senior, approximately 12 years old as of 7/15/2023 Temperament: sweet, social, cuddly, playful, purr monster, lap cat Icy was a beloved pet whose owner surrendered him to us due to housing complications. Now in foster care, Icy is a wonderful cat! He is sweet, social, cuddly, and fun. While he can be very playful and lively at times, his primary state is peacefully napping as close to the nearest human as possible. He is purring seemingly more often than not and constantly seeking out attention, meowing or rolling around on his back. No matter what you’re doing, he will likely be sitting nearby watching over you and/or trying to use your foot as a pillow. He is a lap cat, but generally sits with his upper body on you and lower body off so that he can protect you without suffocating you. He has a lot of personality and constantly makes us laugh with unpredictable antics and acrobatic maneuvers. He loves cool air and trying to enter the refrigerator, which may be the origin of his name. Larger than the average cat, he is in excellent health despite carrying some extra weight. Ideally his new home would have the time and patience to continue to work on a diet plan for him so that his good health can continue for the years to come (he is 12 years old right now). Icy's purrfect future home would include multiple cat-friendly people, because he loves lots of attention! Experienced cat people without small children are probably ideal, because like many cats, he can occasionally use teeth/claws when playing or overstimulated. However, it's never malicious, it's just normal cat boundary-setting. His baseline personality is *extremely* sweet, so once he’s used to you and you understand his boundaries, this shouldn’t be an issue at all. To meet or adopt Icy, please submit a Q&A for him on our website: https://goodhomepetadoptions.org/adopt! -----GOOD HOME is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. All of our cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, SNAP tested and microchipped. Our adoption process includes an application, a friendly conversation, a quick home check, a contract and an adoption fee of $225 per cat (which helps us cover veterinary care) and $150 for seniors or cats with manageable illnesses. The fee is $25 for FeLV+ or cats that require especially high levels of ongoing care.
