River is an affectionate, high-energy, 1 year old Lab/Elkhound mix. We are experienced dog owners, but taking on 2 puppies this past year (River and her brother plus our existing 10 year old dog) has proven to be too much for us. We love her and would keep her if she was our only dog! River recently completed a 5 week board & train with Upstate Canine Academy (UCA) to learn how to be more confident! She is an insecure sweetie, so she needs extra help and structure when interacting with new dogs and people so she doesn’t get overwhelmed and start barking too much, growling, etc. She has been trained with gentle use of prong collar and e-collar. We will show you how to use them. She also has lifetime support from UCA! She will do best as a solo dog with an experienced dog owner who wants a companion dog they will exercise/walk/train daily. Ideally an individual, couple, or family with teens or children over 12 yrs old. She is spayed, vaxxed, and house/potty/crate trained.
