This beautiful, sweet girl is Willow - she's an 8-year old mini Australian Shepherd who weighs about 40 pounds. Willow is a breeder release and still learning what it's like to be a loved family member, but she is soaking it all up! She loves to be loved and seems to like everyone she meets - including the rowdy 2-year old in her foster home - she won't play with him, but she likes to observe him. After her arrival, we discovered she was pregnant. Sadly, she did not carry her babies to term and lost all 3 of her beautiful pups. As you can imagine, Willow was sad at first, but now she's spayed and never has to worry about pregnancy and loss again! Willow was diagnosed with a slightly enlarged heart, but no murmur was detected. She is recovering well in her foster home and really starting to enjoy the feeling of being loved and wanted!! Willow's favorite activites include sunbathing in the yard, observing the world around her, cuddling with her people, and receiving all the pets - she'd happily accept them for hours if you let her! She has her own room in her foster home and loves to sleep in the chair in that room. She also enjoys it when her foster dad puts her on the bed with him for cuddles. Willow isn't very active and she doesn't play with toys yet either. She's pretty quiet most of the time, but will bark when she needs to go potty. Willow knows "sit," "stay," and "no." Her foster reports she is house trained, though every home should expect transitional accidents. Because she loves spending so much time in the yard and the fact that she would be a flight risk, we are requiring a secure fenced yard for Willow. She is dog friendly (canine fosters are 13 and 5 year old Aussies) and kid friendly. She's never shown any signs of aggresion with the 2-year old human foster brother, but she would prefer to have a quieter/calmer home. We think she'd do best in a home with another fairly calm dog to lounge around with. Willow's foster mama said "Willow is by far the sweetest, calmest, greatest little Aussie I've ever met!" She just needs a patient home where she can chill and receive lots of loving.
