Adopt Winny a White - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn Australian Shepherd / Mixed dog

Location:
Normal, IL
Description:

Winny & Remi are a sibling duo who happen to be double merles. Remi is blind and Winny is deaf and partially blind in one eye. These puppies have been together since birth and rely on each other to get around. Our hope is that they find a loving home together. *Their adoption fee together is: $349* Winny is a very unique pup! She has a completely white coat, one blue eye and one dark eye, oh, and she can't hear a thing! Obviously, Winny doesn't know any different so her love for life is unmatched. She is currently learning sign language for no, sit, and stay. Winny is extremely smart and will have commands down in no time. Winny's brother, Remi is completely blind so Winny has been helping him around for months. When Winny notices her brother is about to run into something, she puts herself between him and the object and steers him away from it. She will herd him where he needs to go sometimes too! This little girl is an attention hog and will always wants to be on your lap! You should be prepared to have toys all over your living room because she loves to play! Tennis balls are her absolute favorite toy and she especially likes the giant tennis balls! Winny is having a little trouble with potty training right now but has gotten so much better since arriving at PCH. This girl is so special and you won't regret giving her a home! "Merle Ocular Dysgenesis (MOD) is a hereditary, congenital condition, which may affect animals displaying merled coat coloration. MOD results from abnormal embryonic differentiation of tissues and may lead to multiple ocular abnormalities including any combination of microphthalmos, microcornea, scleral staphyloma, persistent pupillary membranes (PPMs), heterochromia iris, iridal hypoplasia/coloboma (with resultant dyscoria/chorectopia), pseudopolycoria, iridocorneal angle dysplasia, lenticular coloboma/cataract/subluxation, choroidal hypoplasia, optic nerve coloboma, retinal dysplasia and/or retinal detachment (with or without hyphema). Changes are bilateral but not always symmetrical. Affected dogs (notably homozygous "white merles) may also be congenitally deaf. Commonly affected breeds include the Australian Shepherd, (merled) Collies, Shetland Sheepdog, Harlequin Great Dane & (merled) Long-haired Dachshund." Adoption fee: 299 for one or if you about them as a pair it is 399! Available: Now All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. All pets will go home with a collar.
