Animal Profile: Bea is an estimated 8 to 9-month old 40 lb spayed female shepherd mixed with something smaller arriving from Texas on Saturday 7/15. She has been fostered with our rescue partner and a house full of dogs. She is super sweet, great with other dogs and people. She came into the Freer shelter with a male littermate who was adopted. She is crate trained and "easy" according to her Texas foster. We will share more info as we get to know her in foster care. Foster Update: She’s very sweet, very dog friendly, very people friendly, and is learning some basic commands such as sit. I think she must be part fox or something because she loves to burrow her toys in our bushes and lay down under there often. Her best attributes include her sweet and energetic personality -- she wants to be best friends with everybody. While she loves to be near humans she's good about taking time in her crate as well. She still needs training -- the leash is novel to her and she is prone to chewing things left lying around but is improving. She will jump when excited but is improving. She is fairly confident, not fearful. She loves to run around the yard. Her ideal family would have breed/high energy dog experience and have time to devote to training. A fenced yard is also a plus! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate.
