Ivory has been in the shelter since July and keeps getting overlooked. Ivory has come a long way since first arriving to the shelter and we would love for you to come meet her! Ivory is basically velcro - she always wants to be with you, but typically chooses to be right at your feet! She is so so sweet and we have loved getting to know her better. Ivory can be shy when first meeting and may sit on shelter staff`s laps until she’s comfortable. Ivory does need a moment to warm, but we promise it’s worth the time because she has a loving and bubbly personality! Ivory loves playing and going on walks. She will thrive best with regular exercise! Her favorite toys to play with are stuffies and she will carry them everywhere. We do find this to be super cute! Ivory has done great with other dogs and would enjoy having a friend. A friend that matches her energy will be ideal! Ivory will not be adopted into a home with cats or other small animals because she will chase them. Small children may overwhelm Ivory at first and a busy homes may be stressful for her. Introductions should be taken slowly and always supervised! We encourage you to bring your little ones with you when meeting her. Ivory appeared to be potty trained, but has spent a long time in the shelter and may need a couple reminders in her new home. Ivory walks well on a leash, is gentle when taking treats, she knows the cue “sit” and is doing well with learning “lay down”. She is super treat motivated which is helpful! Ivory is really a great dog. She has so much love to give and will be a very loyal friend. If you believe your home would be a good fit for Ivory we encourage you to come and meet her!
