Job Summary: The Conventional Forge Production Supervisor is responsible for achieving short- and long-term goal objectives for the Forge Department. This position is a multi-dimensional role that requires one to be tactical in producing our parts safely and on time, while maintaining high quality levels and low cost. Essential Functions : This is a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities and is not all inclusive. Incumbent(s) may and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks. * Providing subject matter knowledge on principles related forging super alloys including die assembly and maintenance, defect types, equipment operating principles, and manufacturing best practices. * Teaching operators to successfully achieve the skill level necessary to produce forged parts products that meet dimensional and metallurgical characteristics at the necessary productivity level to achieve financial cost targets. * Building teams that consistently achieve daily production objectives: Throughput, Inventory, and Operating Expense; this entails the development and execution of training plans and operator equipment qualifications. * Analyzing the production requirements for the Forge department to ensure both internal and external (outsourcing) options are available to meet short and long term requirements. * Coordinating between related departments to resolve issues with product flow and traceability of parts. * Work with engineering to investigate root causes and develop corrective actions for process deviations. * Maintaining 100%-part traceability in all areas of responsibility. * Supporting compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies; this involves developing, tracking and maintaining production standards for safety, efficiencies, part quality, and housekeeping (5S). * Performing general leadership duties such as timecard review and approvals, absentee reporting, accident reports, personnel issues, disciplinary procedures, etc. * Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems. * Supervises shift personnel and develops subordinates through mentoring, training and routine feedback. * Assists with hiring of personnel and identifies human capital needs to management. * Conducts hourly employee reviews based on job descriptions to measure competency, knowledge, and contribution of the maintenance technicians. * Maintains safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. * Performs related duties as assigned. Work Location/Environmental Requirements : Nickel and titanium manufacturing facility. The employee will be exposed to and must be able to work safely and effectively around the following environmental conditions: * moving mechanical parts; * wet and/or humid conditions; * fumes or airborne particles; * toxic or caustic chemicals; * extreme cold, extreme heat, * vibration; loud noise level.
