Wow this is now a 37 year old piece. Doesn't seem that long ago does it? Super clean example of what Gibson was doing in the mid-late 80's after their buyback from Norlin. A Tune-A-Matic AND a stock Gibson PAF! Wow factory mini Grovers! Just like a real LP only lighter/thinner and more basic! Mahogany neck and body! Rosewood Board! A poor man's LP Junior! 1987 Gibson Melody "Junior" 9.25/10 in condition as it is very gently used! This is the BEST Melody Maker ever made by Gibson due to the factory upgraded specs in my opinion....Gibson was making some high quality instruments in that time and using traditional tonewoods like Mahogany and Ebony, Rosewood. No "Baked Maple" "Jacuranda" "Poplar"...or whatever Gibson uses at the moment. This is ALL mahogany neck and body-no filler woods. The craftsmanship is top notch on this one and since I have owned it has been kept for home use only. Great playability and action. Weight is right at around 6.75 lbs. As a rsult of the slim body and lightweight, the PAF really screams and it has that Junior/LP crunch when playing through a Marshall. These were made during the Shaw pickup era and I have another MM made on same day and it does have a factory Shaw so pretty sure this is the same. The pickups is articulate, griity and a little glassy sounds like a vintage PAF! Can take pics as needed of pickup. I will refund any shipping difference in excess of 5.00. I am not out to make money on shipping and can send a copy of actual shipping receipt after purchase.Included is the an aftermarket SKB hardcase to protect this jewel-also in excellent condition!See my other listings for more 80's/90's era guitars.
