Berry and his siblings were sent to Viva Los Gatos in November from an overcrowded Kentucky shelter that was trying not to have to euthanize them. The kittens were a mess - they had multiple treatable illnesses and were covered in lice eggs. Several months of treatment later, they are now healthy, happy, and ready for forever homes. Berry is a large, muscular, active cuddle bug. He was the most affected by the lice eggs and had to be shaved at a young age - he is still growing back the beautiful, plush fur on his back and asks that you not let this temporary cosmetic issue lower your opinion of him. He is almost as much of a lap hog as his brother Cleo - what often happens is that Cleo takes over your lap when you sit down, and Berry joins him after a few minutes, at which point they either go to sleep in a pile or start wrestling so much they have to jump down and run around some more. Berry likes to pick up a toy and walk around showing off his "kill" while yelling. He is the most vocal of his litter by far - he will sing you an original composition of trills and scales if there is a closed door he would prefer to be open. He is an active and playful baby who would do best with a playmate in his new home. He gets right in bed with his foster humans and thinks sleeping on your legs is pretty great. He likes the other cats in his foster home and has an affectionate relationship with the family dog. He has not met any children, but is young and resilient, and would probably do well with respectful kids. Berry was born around the beginning of October 2023. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots, and negative for FIV/FeLV.
