About Morgan:Monroe State Forest: The Morgan:Monroe State Forest encompasses more than 25,000 acres. It isforested with some of the states finest hardwoods.The original settlers of the area cleared and attempted to farm the ridgesbut were frustrated by the rocky soil that was unsuitable for agriculture. The state purchased the eroded, abandoned land in 1929 to create the Morgan:Monroe State Forest.Activities include camping, gold panning, hiking, hunting, and picnicking. Other features include the Draper Cabin, a 100:year:old cabin renovated to modern standards, and the Cherry Lake Lodge. Both are available for reservation. Salary Statement: The salary for this position traditionally starts at34,216.00but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Role Overview: The individual in the Maintenance Repair position provides preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment, machinery, buildings, and grounds at a state facility. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: :Diagnose and repair various maintenance issues. :Maintain service and maintenance records. :Purchase required parts, tools, and supplies according to State policy. :Repair buildings and structures. :Assist with snow removal. What Youll Need for Success: You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: :Working knowledge of various trades including masonry, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. :Working knowledge of radio communications and procedures. :Working knowledge of appropriate safety precautions needed for a variety of repairs. :Ability to use a variety of automotive, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical tools for routine maintenance and repair. :Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records.:Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment. :Ability to work independently and provide self:motivation. :Ability to read and follow guidelines and blueprints to complete construction projects. :Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation. Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports: This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
