JOB TITLE: Senior Coaching Technician – (Professional Specialist) JOB FUNCTION: To support the development and implementation of Chelsea FC technical coaching programme in the USA LOCATION: Springfield, Virginia and the surrounding areas CONTRACT: 4-month Fixed term Contract – June 1 st to August 31 st , 2024 . Round trip paid. / Car and transport in location provided by partner. Furnished accommodation and bills covered while living in location. Medical insurance and visa application fees are included in the package. The St James are looking for an experienced coaching (specialist) technician to lead the development of the Chelsea FC US camps and a unique soccer development programme as we initiate this new exciting partnership in the USA. Primary function of the role will require developing a close working relationship with Chelsea FC’s international development team in the UK and the director of coaching at The St. James FC Virginia in order to implement and develop these Chelsea FC coaching programmes. Responsibilities: Training and developing a team of coaches to implement coaching programmes and camps in multiple locations regionally. Leading and managing the delivery of summer coaching camps and termly programmes daily will form core responsibility. Ensuring the level of delivery is dynamic and compliant to Chelsea FC coaching philosophy and standards is essential. Managing the experience for athletes & staff and act as liaison between Corporate and on-site staff, working to ensure smooth operations is essential to the success of this role. Serve as the on-site expert for our soccer technical direction and all safety and operational processes and procedures Represent Chelsea FC and The St. James professionally and respectfully throughout all facets of your interactions with athletes, parents and facility partners Additional coaching responsibilities to be assigned by The St. James Director of Soccer when the programme allows. . Qualifications: Essential FA UEFA B coaching certificate or equivalent coaching qualification. Sports and Exercise Science / Studies, or related degree Fluent in English – written and verbal communication Valid FA Emergency First Aid and FA Safeguarding Children certificate A valid passport which would allow application for US work visa. Experience: Minimum of 2000hrs of Soccer Coaching delivery experience working with players 4-18yrs. At least 1000hrs coaching experience within a professional premier league soccer club, elite environment. Extensive experience of managing and coaching players in a competitive team environment. Technically proficient to demonstrate to players, professional playing experience would be viewed advantageously. Coaching experience in a community development programme, with boys and girls of all abilities from 4 to 18 years. Significant Key Stakeholder and Partnership Management experience is essential Experience of managing and leading an event or a group of staff is essential. Experience of working with international players and coaches (both English and non-English speaking) from different cultural backgrounds is advantageous. Skills and Qualifications: Skilled in managing and developing professional relationships with internal and external partners is an essential skill required for this role. Able to enthuse and build a positive energy in all training environment, and with all abilities. Excellent communication skills, using multiple channels to ensure efficiency is essential. Proven organizational skills with a proficiency to work to strict deadlines and targets. Competent to create and complete administrative and operational tasks related to the role. Managing multiple tasks and keeping calm under pressure, are essential requirements. An aptitude to inspire and motivate a team to maximize performance. JAMES SUMMER 2024 J1 Visa Package – June 1 to August 31 st TRAVEL AND ACCOMODATIONSThe St. James will be responsible for all travel arrangements and airport ride in the US. A round-trip flight will be purchased and any incidentals during the trip will be paid for. The J1 will move into an apartment nearby The St. James facility. The apartment will be shared with another J1 coach.TRANSPOTATIONThe J1 coach will be able to use a company rental vehicle for work purposes during the stay. The St. James will cover all related fuel costs.NEW HIRE ORIENTATIONAs a new team member, the J1 coach will begin with a New Hire Orientation. During this session he/she will be introduced to The St. James’ culture, meet key team members, and learn about the facility with a tour.EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATIONThe J1 coach will hold a salaried Full-Time position.HEALTH INSURANCEThe J1 coach will be covered under The St. James medical plan policy.PTOFour vacation days will be allowed during the employment with The St. James. All vacation requests must be preapproved by and prescheduled with the J1 coach’s supervisor.PAY FREQUENCYThe J1 coach will receive a bi-weekly paycheck in the amount of US$2,307.69 every other week. The paycheck may be deposited in a bank checking account or a “Paycard”. A paycard works as a debit card that allows to make purchases.Powered by JazzHR
