Position: Childrens Church Director and Childcare Assistant Reports To: Senior Pastoral Staff and Dominion Learning Center Director Classification Full-time Hours: 40 hours per week Requirements: Submitted and committed to the vision of Dominion. Good organizational and communication skills; attention to details; able to handle information with confidentiality. Must pass background check and complete Health and Safety Training. Ability to relate well with pastoral staff, ministry leaders, co-workers, volunteers, visitors, and members. Great attitude and willing to be flexible in the midst of change. Holy Ghost filled and Spirit Baptized. Have read and agree to DC Bylaws prior to hire. Objective: Effectively manage time, resources, and personnel necessary to develop age-appropriate experience for assigned age groups. This candidate will be active in the Dominion Learning Center afterschool program as a curriculum coordinator and assistant to the Director for about 20 hours per week. In addition, this candidate will serve as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator for Wednesday night and Sunday morning services. Approx. 20 hrs. per week including preparations and events. Responsibilities: 1. Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Dominion employee handbook; 2. Take shared responsibility for accomplishing the vision of Dominion, Dominion Learning Center, and Kingdom Kidz Department. 3. Strive to display professionalism and moral conduct becoming of a church environment both in and out of the facilities, including on social media. 4. Support Pastors, Captains, and Team Leads in curriculum development and preparation for Kingdom Kidz services and DLC afternoons maintaining the culture, vision, goals, and values of Kingdom Kidz as needed. 5. Helps coordinate and effectively communicate needs for the ministry with a solution minded perspective. Always be willing to problem solve and present solutions with the problems you are addressing. 6. Be coachable and willing to go above and beyond what is asked or required of you. 7. Be willing to seek God and add your heart and revelation to the work you create while remaining teachable and willing to adjust to the direction or re-direction of leadership. 8. Be willing to communicate and work with cross-functional teams within the ministry who may be able to assist or supply your team with additional resources and support when necessary. 9. Attend and assist team with special events and initiatives the Kingdom Kidz department or DLC is involved in. 10. Attend required staff meetings during the week and assist with preparation of supplies and curriculum materials throughout the week as needed. 11. Be an excellent communicator to families and volunteers in direct contact to your role. 12. Lead a team of volunteers to be prepared with all materials and information necessary for their assigned date and time ahead of schedule. 13. Work closely with the Captains and Team Leads to provide support, feedback, coaching, etc. to volunteers as needed to successfully execute this program and reap the benefits for each age groups. 14. Be an excellent communicator to families and volunteers in direct contact to your role. 15. Create a welcoming, safe and fun environment for kids to build relationship with God and others, discover their purpose and learn to walk in Kingdom identity. 16. Create physical classroom environments conducive to collaborative and individual learning. 17. Study curriculum and be prepared to present or guide other volunteers as they lead during services. 18. Manage set up / tear down / prep time of area. 19. Manage any reports from assigned age group. 20. Oversee the onboarding process of new volunteers for the entire Growth Track to serving process. 21. Effectively communicate with Department Heads and Leads when a new volunteer will be joining their team. 22. Communicate directly with new volunteers throughout their entire onboarding process to ensure all questions are answered and they are properly trained and prepared for the area they will be serving in. 23. Be willing to communicate with Leads if a volunteer requests to serve in a new age group and oversee this transition to ensure the volunteer has a full understanding of the process and what opportunities are available to them. 24. Responsible to follow all state and federal childcare guidelines as applicable when serving in DLC. Maintaining yearly training requirements is mandatory.
