If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent technical skills, and are committed to delivering compassionate healthcare, we welcome you to apply and be part of our mission to provide exceptional care.Essential Job Functions:Ability to interact and respond with patient various patient behavior in a therapeutic, gentle and friendly mannerCommunicates reassurances and explanations consistentlyAdapts nursing procedures to meet the needs for treatment of various types of patientsAssists in the maintenance and handling of special equipment and instrumentsAppropriately & safely positions patients while under careCarries out surgical asepsis and safely administers medications for all proceduresPrepares and cleans operating room suites before and after casesProtects patient's right to privacySensitive to patient needsAbility to set up for surgical proceduresAccepts full responsibility and accountability for care of instruments/ equipment before, during and after procedures, including cleaning and processing of instrumentsAbility to follow written procedures for steam sterilizationKnows responsibilities and the necessity for chemical and biological monitoring of sterilizationAccurately records, handles, and labels specimensAnticipates the needs of the surgeon during intraoperative phaseMaintains composure and appropriately responds to patients in an emergency or physically distressful situationAbility to create documentation that meets current standards, policies and procedures and in a timely mannerHighly motivated and able to work independentlyAbility to perform lab testing per lab policies and proceduresAbility to interpret results of test take appropriate action on test resultsKnowledge of storage, care and use of each specific cartridgeKnowledge of quality control testing monthly or with each new shipment and proficient testingSecondary Job Functions:Provides innovative input into the development of the hospital environments and its processesParticipates in facility performance improvement activitiesCreates and maintains policy and procedures to State and Federal regulationsMaintains policy and procedures in relation to hospital/ clinic regulationsRequirements:Working Conditions:This position works in varied environments including medical office, acute care facilities, operating rooms and recovery rooms, as well as potential for off premise work and travel. Regularly exposed to patients' conditions and some unpleasant sights, various odors, noise, bodily fluid and communicable diseases. Constant interaction with co-workers, patients, vendors and general public, which may involve individuals who are angry, upset or ill.Physical Requirements:This position is primarily an action position requiring walking, bending, stooping, crawling, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. At times must lift up to 75 pounds. Potential for long periods of standing. Must have visual acuity and manual dexterity to interface with the computer and other facility operating systems. Must have auditory acuity to effectively interact with patients and public.Essential Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentCurrent BLS certificationMinimum of one (1) year work experience in an operating roomCan interface with computers effectivelyLearns new concepts and procedures quicklyExcellent organizational skillsHonestyAccuracyAbility to manage time and appropriately prioritize tasks and responsibilitiesAbility to communicate effectively and in a professional and courteous manner with co-workers, vendors and other people in contact withPunctualityAdheres to dress code standardsPreferred Qualifications:Operating Room Tech.
